Nolan, James L. "5 Public Education." The Therapeutic State: Justifying Government at Century's End. New York: New York University, 1998. 128+. Print. This secondary source was vital for connecting the overall aspect of the scope of government involvement with education. The author brings up the idea that children were used as a way for the government to first religiously educate, then to bring "better citizens and voters". The overall chapter explains how education has developed over the years and the importance of it today.
